Our research

Reconnexion’s work is informed by the latest evidence and developments in the field of benzodiazepine dependence and treatment, which continues to grow.

While in recent years there is increased focus on deprescribing and supporting healthcare providers to improve the management of benzodiazepine dependence, Reconnexion recognises there is much work that remains to be done.

In response to our consumer needs and our service delivery and development, Reconnexion has developed research partnerships with both Federation University and Deakin University. This has allowed us to increasingly contribute to the field of benzodiazepine research. The focus of our current research is informed by our research strategy (2021-25) which concentrates on five key areas:

1.      Promoting Education and Awareness
2.      Elevating the Consumer Voice
3.      Continuity of Care
4.      Prevention and Early Intervention
5.      Co-creation of Evidence
